It threatened communities and worsening air quality along the South Carolina – North Carolina border in the Appalachians (2)(3). The Table Rock Complex, which included both the Table Rock Fire and the Persimmon Ridge Fires, burned thousands of acres of dry mountain brush and woodland in Pickens County, South Carolina.

The larger of the two fires, the Table Rock Fire, burned up to the North Carolina state line, and impacted areas near Table Rock State Park.
