The Android AirVisual air quality app requires a number of permissions to operate.

Here is the list of permissions and why the app requires them:

  • Find accounts on the device: used to share on social media
  • Approximate location (network based) & precise location (GPS and network-based): used to locate and provide local air quality data
  • Read phone status and identity: Used to differentiate between different users
  • Modify or delete the contents of your USB storage & Read the contents of your USB storage: used to store and access the air quality database on the phone
  • Modify Wi-Fi connections: used to configure the AirVisual Node air quality monitor's Wi-Fi connection
