IQAir air purifiers play lead role in protecting baby's health

A new episode of the ABC hit television series “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” aired last night and chronicled the effect mold can have on respiratory health.

Baby Sophia Dickinson of Beaufort, S.C., has struggled to breathe since she was first brought home from the hospital, requiring multiple medications and breathing treatments to fight back back against the effects of the mold growing inside the walls of the family’s house

Sophia’s mother was unable to sleep through the night for fear her baby would stop breathing. And the family’s father, Bill, was stationed with the U.S. Marines in Afghanistan and thus unable to help.

The family’s plight was brought to the attention of the “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” and the old home was razed and a new one built in early January 2001.
