Why Schools?

Schools are at the center of communities, making them ideal locations for air quality monitoring. With access to electricity, internet access, and dedicated staff, they can serve as air quality hubs, providing essential environmental data for students, neighborhoods and the world.

Schools4Earth provides real-time pollution data, helping schools:

  • Make informed decisions about outdoor activities based on air quality.
  • Empower students and educators with environmental education opportunities.
  • Contribute to global air quality data, helping researchers and policymakers address pollution.

IQAir estimates that currently only 21% of the world population has access to hyper-local, real-time air quality information. The vision of School4Earth is for every school worldwide to monitor air quality. Schools4Earth would provide over 94% of the global population access to real-time pollution data—filling critical information gaps and improving public health responses.

How Schools Benefit

Each participating school will receive an outdoor air quality monitor to track PM2.5 and other environmental parameters in real-time.
